WHAT MAKES YORK DAY NURSERY DIFFERENT?
To establish and maintain York Day Nursery as the agency of choice for high-quality early childhood education and care to children of working families of all income levels throughout York County.
YDN is proud to be awarded National Accreditation by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. Accreditation is a comprehensive, voluntary approach to improving the quality of a child care program. YDN accomplished accreditation by providing low child to teacher ratios, offering an outstanding program, hiring the finest staff possible, and creating a strong partnership between school and families.
YDN holds a Four Star status (the highest performance level available) under the PA Keystone STARS Child Care Quality Initiative. To obtain the Four Star Level, YDN achieved NAEYC Accreditation and demonstrated high-performance standards in the areas of staff education, learning environment and administration.
PENNSYLVANIA PRE-K COUNTS
YDN was awarded a grant to provide 20 four-year-old children with high-quality pre-kindergarten through PA Pre-K Counts. This program is designed for children who are at risk of school failure, either because of income, language (English is not the first language), and cultural or special needs issues.
You see it when you enter our classrooms. How they interact at our students' level. How they speak to them. How they care for these students as their own. How they engage the entire family.
